It's been in the works for a couple of months, and I'm pleased to announce that our new forum is ready to roll! The new forum will upgrade us to what most other websites are using, and will also allow us to add some new sections and features for our visitors to enjoy. The forum system we'll be using is phpBB, which is functionally similar to others like vBulletin and UBB (Ultimate Bulletin Board). The new forum is a lot more flexible, powerful and secure than the current one, and will better be able to handle the growth in website and forum traffic.

You can read the forum messages without registering, but to reply to existing messages and post new messages, you will need to register. Registration also gives you the ability to send private messages to other members, vote in our polls, upload an "avatar" (small picture) for your user ID, and will also allow you to visit the "members-only" forum areas we've set aside for set lists and song lyrics.

The rollout plan will be to keep the old forum open as read-only "archive" status, where no new posts will be possible. Any current, active topics will be copied and pasted into new messages here so that conversation can continue.

Looking forward to seeing you in the new forum! Here's the link for it:
http://forum.yellowjackets.com . Please visit the new forum and register at your earliest convenience. If you have any problems at all with the registration process, send an e-mail to forumadmin@yellowjackets.com so we can take care of it.
