Thanks to the addition of alto/soprano saxophonist Marc Russo (from the Tower of Power horn section), the Yellowjackets gained a recognizable voice and steady "front man" for the group. One of Yellowjackets' best-known early songs, "Homecoming", appears as the lead-off track on this album. Vocalist/songsmith Bobby Caldwell makes an appearance on "Lonely Weekend". The overall high caliber of songs closes with the manic bop/samba stylings of "Samurai Samba".
